Powdered Brows Are In. Are You Ready to Ombré?!
One of the things that I love about the beauty industry is that there are a ton of different ways to bring that pop to your personal style. Eyebrows are no different. Between microblading, henna, and powdered brows, the possibilities of creating fierce looks for your eyebrows are endless. And while I love all the techniques, lately, I’ve become obsessed with ombré powdered brows and my clients are loving it too. In this week’s post, I’m doing an FAQ on all things Ombrè. So what exactly are Ombré powdered brows?
It’s a semi-permanent powdered brow that produces hair strokes that are full, yet very soft. The technique looks like daily makeup done with eyebrow pencil or eyebrow shadow so it’s absolutely perfect for my clients who already have brows but are just looking for a little fill in.
What’s the difference between ombré, microblading, and henna?
The powdered brow is a great look for those who have brows but are looking for a more solid look. Microblading is a slightly more intense process and involves creating fine hair strokes and allows the artist to create a more “natural” looking brow. Henna brows are similar to the powdered brow but they are temporary, great for my clients who have sensitive skin or are looking for vegan-friendly options.
How is it done?
It’s a manual process of inserting pigment into the top layers of skin. It’s a two-step process that starts with the initial insertion of pigment and follows up with a touch up 6-8 weeks later.
How long does it last?
Anywhere from 2-4 years, but it will eventually fade over time, but it tends to last a little longer than microblading.
Does it hurt?
That’s always the million dollar question, right? It’s different from person to person, but I will say that if you’re one who already waxes or plucks your eyebrows regularly, you probably won’t feel much. If you are someone who doesn’t regularly pluck, it might be a little uncomfortable, but trust me, you’ll be totally fine.
