How to Prepare for your Permanent Brow Appointment
Questions to ask your brow specialist:
Can I see before and after photos?
What is the touch-up process like?
Get a checklist for before your appointment to make sure everything is good to go.
What to do prior to your appointment:
No blood thinners, alcohol, pain relievers, etc. because these can thin your blood and can result in poor pigment retention.
Don’t tweeze, wax or trim your eyebrows the week of your treatment.
Talk with your brow artist before your appointment to go over any questions or concerns you have.
Get brow inspo photos for the shape, color, and look you want.
What to Expect During Your Session
The most important thing is to make my clients feel comfortable and at ease when they come to their appointment. We will go over your inspiration photos and your brow goals to assess your end results and manage your expectations.
Once I map out and visually design a plan for your brows, I will apply numbing cream to lessen any discomfort. I will then map out and stencil your brows to compliment your face and eye shape. Once these initial steps are complete, the fun begins!
Ombré Brows: If we decide to use the ombré brow technique, I will use an electric hand machine to begin the shading process. It punctures hundreds of tiny dots of pigment into the skin to create a shaded, makeup-like effect.
Microblading Brows: If we decide to use the microblading technique, I will use a pen with a blade made up of several sharp blades to begin microblading the brows. I dip the blade into pigment and then puncture the skin using hair-like strokes to create fuller, natural-looking brows.
What to Expect After
Once the permanent brow treatment is complete, stay cool and calm as we hand you the mirror to see your new brows. Your brows will be much darker and bolder than expected, but this is completely normal! Your brows will take a week or so to heal, recover, and lighten up to your desired shade. Get ready to fall in love with your new brows!
Aftercare:
Don’t get your brows wet for 7-10 days post treatment - sweat, water, makeup, etc.
When the brows scab over, do not pick or scratch the scab.
If recommended by me, apply an ointment to your brows to allow it to heal quicker.
In a few weeks, contact me to schedule your touch-up.
